Well, it’s a new year, so that must mean Jack White is in a new band. This time it’s called the Dead Weather and he’ll be playing the drums and singing. The lead vocals will be tackled by Alison Mosshart (the Kills), the guitar will be handed to Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age/the Raconteurs) and bass will be rounded out by “Little Jack” Lawrence (the Greenhornes/the Raconteurs). You can sample 2 songs on their website, and Mosshart sounds great on them! This should be a pretty unique collaboration.

This announcement coupled with the debut of the building launch of Jack White’s Third Man Records. The Dead Weather’s debut album Horehound will be released in June with a tour in the works. The album was recorded in only 3 weeks, which is pretty typical for Jack White. The timing of the debut makes sense because the Kills will be on tour from March to May.

At only thirty three years old, you really have to wonder how many more projects White can possibly join. He could have forty-plus years left of performing, essentially.

So now the question I have is, what other supergroup would you like to see him start? Or should he just stop all of this and go back to the White Stripes? Or should he give all of this up and go back to the upholstery business?

Let's hear what you have to say.....
