Each month we feature a new charity to share with our readers in hopes that they might donate to or at least spread the word to others for awareness. For May we chose a charity around Seattle in The Ballard Food Bank .
As it states on their front page, The Ballard Food Bank “Helps out more than 1,000 Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne households receive food, clothes, hygiene items or emergency financial help each week from the Ballard Food Bank.
And their Mission Statement pretty well sums up the drive of humanity behind this charity: “Our Vision is one of a community-based organization that provides services to our neighbors in crisis, limited only by the support and contributions of the Ballard and Magnolia communities. We ask donors and volunteers to think of their support not as helping “Ballard Food Bank”, but as helping their neighbors in need. Ballard Food Bank is simply the agency that facilitates the delivery of their help to those sometimes-disenfranchised persons that live in our neighborhood.”
Look, we do things randomly around here, so this charity feature will run with us until mid/late June. That’s how we roll.
