Esperanza Spalding first came to the attention of many around the world with a shocking win at the 53rd Grammy Awards. Spalding topped huge names, such as Justin Bieber, Drake, Mumford & Sons, and Florence + The Machine, for the Best New Artist award. Soon after, new interest began forming from all different tastes of music. Spalding, a jazz bassist and singer, incorporates many different genres in an eclectic mix that sets her apart from many others. In March, Esperanza released her fourth studio album, Radio Music Society. The album has done wonders to bring jazz back to a mainstream capacity, as the cd debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. In support of the album, Spalding is hitting the road with over 20 scheduled shows around the United States. The shows are to be held in more intimate venues to give the fans a great experience with Esperanza.
