Jason Aldean has taken the country music world by storm over the last few years. The Macon, GA native first got the itch to make it big at age 14 after a performance at the local VFW. Aldean would go on to join a band in Georgia full time when he was only 15 years old. He would continue to chase his dream until 2005, when his self-titled album would be released through Broken Bow Records.
The first album featured his first number one song, “Why”. “Amarillo Sky” got Jason his first ACM nomination for song of the year and video of the year. The album went on to sell over a million copies in the United States. The success of the project indicated that a huge star had been born.
The next album was not quite as successful. Relentless did however spawn more top ten singles for Aldean. “Johnny Cash” and “Laughed Until We Cried” became the more memorable songs from the sophomore release. Overall, the album became certified gold by the RIAA.
Wide Open is the third release by Jason Aldean in 2009. This started an impressive run of number one singles by Aldean. First up, “She’s Country” managed to be the second overall number one hit in the short career of the young singer. Next, “Big Green Tractor” became another number one hit for Aldean, as well as, the summer anthem of 2009. The third consecutive number one hit from the album was “The Truth”. This impressive run was capped off with a nomination for Video of the Year at the 2012 CMT Music Awards.
Jason Aldean realeased, My Kinda Party, on November 2, 2010. The album turned Aldean into a mega-star. Over the next two years, award nominations and number one singles rolled in nonstop. Aldean had finally achieved the superstar status many felt he had deserved for years. “Dirt Road Anthem” became Aldean’s first top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which is very impressive for a country artist. The success was also met with the first Grammy nominations of his career. The success of the album launched Jason Aldean into a headlining tour for two straight years.
After riding the success of his fourth album, Aldean finally announced a release date for his highly anticipated new release, Night Train. October 16, 2012 is the chosen date for the newest project to hit the shelf. The album is off to a hot start, as “Take a Little Ride” is currently blazing up the charts. It is safe to say, Aldean will be sticking around for just a little bit longer.
